and when they were down they were down

CRP= 28Huh

and when they were only half way up,

DAS28- 5.8Blink

they were neither up nor down!

I have been to see the rheummy today re the abatacept and things in general. I told him I was doing much better- the pain in the joints is pretty bad but general movement is so much better. The bloods and readings dont say the same.... so bit worried that funding will stay in place for abatacept...

I have to see a surgeon (at last) for me knee and even better I am going to be the subject of a neuro/ rheumatology meeting in a month or so.

finally, my gastro result is back it looks like I have colitis.

Marvelous! Going to have more bloods done on friday.

Hi Jenny

So sorry to hear you have yet another awful condition to deal with. Is it connected in some way to your meds or RA or are you just unlucky? Life is so cruel at times. Remember you have friends on the forum. I know we have never met but I feel like I have met many new friends since joining nras. I hope you are feeling better soon.

What happens with collitis then? Do you have to alter diet or is it more meds? Hope you are having a good day xx Ailsa

Its good about the meeting, but what happens with colitis? Is it similar to chrones? Hope the knee surgeon appt is not too long to wait and you have a good outcome.. Hope they leave your abtacept alone too!

oh! they want nice STRONG evidence for their wonder drug Abatacept...ESR going UP is not really what they looking for!

would love to avoid a trip to the VAMPIRES DEN but they LURRRRVE my blood by the tube.

we are not heading for complete knee replacement but a debridement apparently.

Sorry to hear of the additional problems. Has there been any suggestion that the colitis may be Crohns? As we know these AI beggars are too cowardly to travel alone and prefer the company of others of their species. I know a few people who have Crohns with RA. If this is the case hopefully the Abatacept will provide a double whammy for you!

I had a knee debridement (and cartilage repairs) last summer. I know I have a lot of knee damage, so there was a fair bit of work to do, but recovery was very slow and impeded by the lack of suitable medication! I went in for investigative arthroscopy so it came as a shock to find so much had been done. Do try and find out exactly what they plan for you as you already have so much on your plate without large doses of knee surgery to boot!
